Where we are
Rabat sits on high ground in the centre of the island, wrapped around the walls of Mdina. Central Rabat is compact and best explored on foot. For everywhere else, the island is small enough that almost nothing is more than an hour away.
From the airport
Private transfer: the simplest option
A private transfer meets you at arrivals and brings you directly to our door, no queue, no navigating, no luggage on a bus. Book it during online check-in, or message us if you've already checked in. Return transfers for departure day are available too.

Getting around
On foot
Mdina, Rabat and everything in these guidebooks' Mdina & Rabat chapter are all within walking distance of the house. Wear proper shoes.
By bus
Several routes connect Rabat to Valletta, Sliema, St Julian's, the Blue Grotto, Ċirkewwa (for the Gozo ferry) and beyond. Rabat is a well-served hub. Use the tallinja app to plan.
Car hire
Hiring a car makes the quieter corners of the island, Dingli, Buskett, the west coast, much easier to reach. Avis, Sixt and Europcar all operate in Malta, among many others, with desks at the airport.
Parking: there is a public parking area within about 15 metres of the property.
Driving in Malta: you drive on the left. Roads are narrow, junctions are informal, and parking in the older towns is tight. Perfectly manageable, just take it gently for the first day.

To Gozo
The Gozo ferry sails from Ċirkewwa, at the northern tip of Malta, to Mġarr on Gozo, a 25-minute crossing, running frequently through the day and less often overnight. You can reach Ċirkewwa by bus from Rabat, or drive and take the car across.
